Construction Manager / Site Agent

About the role

Matukane Investment Holdings is looking for an experienced Construction Manager / Site Agent to join a building project in Cape Town. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day site operations, coordinate teams and suppliers, and keep the project on programme, on quality and on budget.

Minimum requirements

• Diploma, BTech, or BSc in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building, or another built-environment related qualification
• Minimum 6 years' experience in construction site management or a similar role
• Experience managing subcontractors, labour, suppliers, site progress and daily operations
• Ability to read drawings, understand specifications and manage site instructions
• Strong knowledge of quality control, health and safety, and programme management
• Good communication, leadership and reporting skills
• Valid driver's licence will be an advantage
• Cape Town-based candidates will be preferred

Key responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day site activities
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site teams
• Monitor programme, quality, safety and productivity
• Ensure work is completed according to drawings, specifications and deadlines
• Prepare daily / weekly progress updates for management
• Assist with resolving site issues and maintaining project momentum
